The start of a new year, brings exciting new challenges, apart from my traditional aviation work, I am introducing something new, I’m afraid it has to remain top secret at the moment, but I hope to reveal this very exciting new element in the next few months, so watch this space!
Following a short break at Whitby just before Christmas, I have some wonderful reference material to work with; the weather for once was fantastic, blue skies and long winter shadows, perfect for an artist. I will be painting some scenes of Whitby and of the Yorkshire Moors. I will of course keep you posted with regards to completed works.

An original painting available is of the Typhoon flying over France preparing the ground for the D-Day invasion. This was in fact the original of a limited edition print run, but frustrated with the result for one reason or another, I felt the max. potential of the canvas was not attained. I have after many months of careful deliberation worked the canvas up to a standard that meets with my approval, and am now happy to release the original piece. The canvas size is 30” x 22”. * NOW SOLD *

As discussed in the last newsletter, my landscape/ hot air balloon painting is now available as a print; this can be seen in the landscape section of the website. I have called it ‘Falling Inflation’, well if the news broadcasters have nothing but bad news about the economy; I thought this title would raise a smile. More information here.

I have had a fair bit of response to the modeling side of things, so just thought I would introduce my latest little creation. Bit of a sculpture in its own right really, but it was a real challenge. It is a rudder pedal group built from scratch to ¼ scale from card, plastic and aluminum. It took nearly two weeks to build. I love building to ‘Super Scale’, and try to get every nut and bolt correct, even down to scuffing the port pedals more than the co-pilots starboard ones due to more use! It will go into a scale radio controlled model aircraft, which is expected to take approx. 8 yrs. to build.

Just for a bit of fun, if anyone has owned an anorak for long enough to know what aircraft it belongs to, there will be a prize for the first correct answer picked out of a hat. All answers by Feb. 28th. The prize will be a copy of my latest release ‘Towards the End,’ (Grand Slam Days.) Good Luck!

I have again, the honor of being invited to paint the Lincolnshire Lancaster Associations 2009 Christmas card. This will be released as a fine art print, as have the past card images- ‘Snowbound Lancasters’ and ‘Air Test’. I have yet to meet with the Chairman, Stuart Stevenson MBE. to determine the final design.
