scene on the north coast of Norfolk, this composition represents what the north coast of Norfolk is to me, an area of total peace and quiet. With just the coastal birds of which there are many species in that area, to keep you company, your mind is at peace to drift off with nothing to distract. I took advantage of the water in this image to yield some vertical reflections that add a balance to the painting and of course helps in the illusion of making it look like water. The old rusty winch was in fact taken from the cover of a tourist publication! I think this a good example of just keeping old magazine cuttings and photos with things like this in case they can be included in a painting, I certainly knew at some point I would be using this reference.
