I am always fascinated by anything mechanical. I am not actually a rail enthusiast, but steam engines do interest me and are a challenge to paint. ‘The End of the Line’ represents a period of time that I find very sad, as steam engines were being scrapped, only to be replaced by soulless diesel and electric units. A relatively dark image as it is, the light that is within the composition is so important, and enhances the mood of the shed.
