The Sopwith Camel was one of the most successful fighter aircraft of WW1. Although the torque reaction of the rapidly rotating engine did cause some handling problems especially with the less experienced pilots, it was used to advantage for rapid change of direction in certain combat situations.. this aircraft was flown by Major John Inglis Gilmour, 65 Sqn with 39 kills making him Scotlands highest scoring ace.
